BluePrint’s JFK scenery depicts the airport as it exists in early 2012, including seven unique terminals and the great majority of general aviation, cargo and maintenance facilities located within the field’s boundaries. Each terminal is modeled at the highest level of detail possible with their most significant architectural features depicted in three dimensions. Every model is textured at the highest feasible resolution to show many details that cannot be reproduced in 3D. All terminal service structures including parking decks, elevated access roads and, the elevated people mover (AirTrain) are also modeled in detail to create an immersive environment that mimics the real airport as accurately as possible during taxing to and from the terminals. Aircraft parking positions around each terminal and the corresponding jetways are placed, configured, numbered and branded according to the most recent information available for the airlines serving JFK in early 2012.
The four runways and all taxiways are laid out according to current official airport diagrams and charts. Special attention is paid to the location of navigation facilities including VORs, localizers, glide slopes and precision approach path indicators. (Note: The localizer for Runway 22R is offset 2 degrees toward the west as it is in real life). The scenery also includes detailed and accurately positioned 3-D models for approach lighting fixtures as well as localizer, glide slope, and VOR antennae. The scenery also includes animated models for the lead-in lights needed for the challenging (and fun) VOR and visual approaches to runways13L/R. Taxiway signs and markings are carefully placed at each intersection to facilitate taxing. A few extra markings and signs are added to facilitate ground movement in the simulator environment and enhance the pilot’s experience. Those include runway hold-short flashing lights at every intersection and three-dimensional, oversized parking position alignment aids.
Design Considerations:
FS2004 (FS9) or FSX and all versions of Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8
Note: No measurable frame-rate degradation was observed using the hardware specified above as “fully tested”.
* BluePrint Simulations sceneries are designed and tested using nVidia GPU’s exclusively. For Current generation video card specifications visit nVidia.com. For ATI video card specifications visit ati.com
Attempting to use Blueprint Simulations KJFK, New York – John F. Kennedy Intl Airport scenery with hardware that does not meet the specifications listed above is not recommended. We will offer limited technical support for frame-rate performance related issues if the minimum hardware specifications listed above are not met.
